Remote control trucks are some of the most popular – and fun! – remote control gadgets you can get. They’re easy to get started with and electric models don’t need much maintenance, until you crash and break something. Cheaper rc trucks can be purchased for under $100, while big gas trucks can run up to about $1000 or so. Some, such as the Venom Gambler trucks, are scale models of full scale racing trucks while others are just plain fun.
There are several main types of rc trucks. The main ones are rc crawlers such as the Redcat Racing Rockslide RS10 XT, classic monster trucks like the Traxxas Monster Jam models, stadium trucks, short course trucks including the HPI Blitz, and fast sleek body trucks with monster wheels like the Redcat Racing Earthquake 8E. These trucks also come in different scales, from 1/25 scale to 1/4 scale. Most trucks for sale are 1/16, 1/10, or 1/8 scale. Some trucks are waterproof, so you can drive in mud and rain without fear of water damage to the electronics. The ESC, or electronic speed control, tends to be susceptible to water damage unless it is waterproofed. Waterproof trucks also have o-ring seals to protect servos.
